The two most basic stances in wushu are the horse stance 马步 (mabu) and bow stance 弓步 (gongbu). We have a short checklist of 2-3 points for each stance, for you to check your own stance when practicing.
When you do a horse stance, 马步, here are three things for you to check:
(1) Sit low
(2) Sit straight
(3) Toes point to the front
When you do a bow stance, 弓步, here are two things for you to check:
(1) Front leg sits low
(2) Back leg is pushed straight
